VARDAN OSKANIAN, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs

10.07.2006

On 10 July 2006, a group of the members of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association (AYLA) and the Jessup Club of Armenia (JCA) met with Mr. Vardan Oskanian, Republic of Armenia Minister of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was held in the building of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting was aimed at introducing the activities of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association (AYLA) and JCA to the attention of the Foreign Minister, and to hear the latest news concerning the RA foreign policy, and in particular the latest developments referring to the developments of Karabakh Conflict regulation, Armenia’s position concerning this issue, and the details of the discussed documents, as well as the possible future developments in the conflict resolution.
The participants’ questions also covered the above-mentioned issues.
First Mr. Karen Zadoyan, AYLA President introduced the activities of the Association and the Jessup Club of Armenia. Further Mr. Oskanian addressed to Karabakh issue, spoke about the current developments concerning the conflict regulation and drew parallels between the suggestions of both opponent parties, which they had made in different stages of negotiations. The minister introduced the possible developments as well.
The meeting was held in a rather interesting and lively atmosphere. Unfortunately the participants failed to refer to all the questions they were interested in. Thus they decided to organize such meetings in future as well, and to discuss the priorities of the Republic of Armenia foreign policy, establishment of democracy and rule of law in Armenia, as well as other themes that are essential for the development of our state.
At the end of the meeting Mr. Vardan Oskanian was announced an honorary member of the Jessup Club of Armenia and received the certificate.
