The Team of American University of Armenia will represent Armenia at the International Round of Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition

The Oral Round of Philip C Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Armenia launched

According to the organizers, this time the level of preparedness of the teams was higher due to the fact that for the first time in the history of Jessup in Armenia, the national rounds were held in English language.

The moot court competition is being organized in Armenia for already 15 years, by the Armenian Young Lawyers Association in cooperation with the Law Foundation of Armenia and the “LEGAL ALLIANCE” Law Firm.

The International Round of 2013 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition was accomplished on 6 April 2013. The team of the Law Department of Yerevan State University represented the Republic of Armenia in the International Round. The International Round of the Competition was held from 31 March through 6 April in Washington DC the U.S.

On 12 October, attaching much importance to involvement of the students from the RA regions in various professional events that promote obtaining new skills and knowledge the Armenian National Administrator of Jessup Competition met Mr. V. Brutyan, Rector of Armenian-Russian International University “Mkhitar Gosh” in Vanadzor.

The Competition is already an established tradition, which has the aim to develop and raise the level of knowledge of the law students of the new generation in the sphere of international law, to brief and argue a hypothetical case on timely issues of international as well as customary law, to discuss urgent topics, which is more important in the context of the difference of various legal systems, as well as to promote the development of experts in international law.
